Fly Fishing Trip Info

Our float trips are on the Gunnison River, which is one of the premier fishing destinations in Colorado.  Much of the "Gunni" flows through private land that cannot be reached any other way.  For this reason we recommend our float fishing trips over walk-wadding.  This trip can be split up into several different stretches of river and your guide will choose the section that has been fishing the best at that time.  You and your guide will arrange a specific meeting time and location that works best for you and your guide's vehicle will be waiting at the end of your trip to bring you back to your vehicle.

The Arkansas River is a Gold medal fishery that stretches from Leadville to Canyon city.  This river has large healthy rainbow and brown trout with endless opportunity to pursue them from a boat or walk-wade.  We are proud to partner the Royal Gorge Anglers, the oldest fly shop in southern Colorado, to provide these trips.  If you are traveling to Gunnison from Denver or Colorado Springs this is a great opportunity to get in some excellent fishing on the way here.    

• You are more than welcome to bring your own fly fishing rod or other gear, but we provided flies, tackle, and fishing rods that will be used on the trip.  
• At this time we do not provide waders and boots.  Most people do not wear waders on float trips, but that is up to you and your comfort level.  
• We recommend that you bring a hat and rain jacket as weather can fluctuate drastically throughout the day.
• We require you wear a pair of glasses that are preferably polarized.  
• Water bottles will be provided on all trips and lunches will be provided on all full day trips.  We will get your lunch order prior to your trip.  If there are any drinks or snacks that we can provide just let us know.
• A Colorado fishing license is required for all trips and must be obtained prior to your trip.
